What We Believe

The Bible
The Bible is the inspired and preserved Word of God. It is inerrant and serves as the final authority for mankind. We believe the King James Version is the Word of God in the English language. 2 Timothy 3:16

God
There is only one God existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is a distinct person but of one essence and each have the same attributes. Deuteronomy 6:4

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He existed in eternity past, was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, shed His blood as the atonement for sins, was crucified on the cross of calvary, was buried for three days, and rose again as a victor over death. John 1:1-18

Man
Man is a creation of God – spirit, soul, and body. Adam was created as the first man and not a result of evolution. Adam sinned by disobedience. This act resulted in the fall of mankind which incurs both spiritual and physical death for all. Genesis 1:27

Salvation
Salvation is available to all who receive Jesus Christ by faith as their Savior. Salvation is only by grace through faith and not of good works. Eternal life is a gift of God for all who repent of their sin and believe in the only begotten Son of God. Once someone is saved they are eternally saved. John 3:16

Priesthood of Believers
The priesthood of all believers is such that every Christian has direct access to God in prayer through Jesus Christ, our great High Priest, and only mediator between God and man. Hebrews 4:16

Rapture and Second Coming
There will be a literal pre-millennial, pre-tribulational return of Jesus Christ in the clouds known as the rapture of His people. At this event, the dead in Christ and living believers shall be caught up to meet Him in the air. At the end of a seven year tribulation, Christ shall visibly descend with the saints to establish His earthly millennial kingdom. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Satan
Satan is a created being who rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven. He is now on earth as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Satan has been judged and defeated at the cross and awaits his ultimate doom at the Second Coming of Christ. 1 Peter 5:8

Hell
Hell is a literal place of fire and sufferings reserved as a place of judgment for all those who do not place their faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation. Luke 16:19-31

Local Church
A New Testament Church is a local body of baptized believers with Jesus Christ as its head and the Holy Spirit as its guide. The local Church is to be governed independently of outside persons, groups, or authorities. The offices of the local church are pastors and deacons whose qualifications are clearly defined in the Word of God. The Church is to promote spiritual worship, proclaim the Gospel, and teach the whole counsel of God. Acts 2:41-42

Church Ordinances
There are two ordinances of the local church: water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Both are pictures. Baptism is the likeness of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection which identifies the believer with Christ and the doctrine of the church. The Lord’s Supper is observed as a remembrance and picture of the Lord’s death. Acts 8:37-38

Missions
The church is to fulfill the great commission at outlined in Matthew 28:19-20. We support missions through Faith Promise. Our goal is to primarily support church planting missionaries as modeled in the Word of God. Acts 1:8

Music
Music in the church should exalt the Lord and educate, encourage, and edify the individual believer and the whole church; it is to be used by believers to evangelize the lost by showing the change to their hearts in song. Colossians 3:16

Creation
The Genesis account of creation is to be accepted literally. All things were created by God and for God and there was no admixture of evolution whatsoever. Genesis 1

Human Sexuality
God created male and female. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, pornography, and the altering of one’s gender are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. Genesis 1:27

Marriage
The only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman and no no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of a marriage. God intends marriage to last until the death of a spouse. Genesis 2:24
